[ This post could take place anywhere. There's no defining shot of a background that's instantly defining - just trees, and sky, and Rin. If it weren't for the music - New Bark theme, easily recognizable to anyone who knows their tunes - it would be hard to pin down where she was. Rin herself looks native for a given value of native, too. She's swapped out to the extra set of clothing in her pack - "lass" - and instead of a hitai-ate, there's a plain blue headband. There's also a smile, if a cautious one. These things seem pretty harmless so far, and there doesn't seem to be any benefit from not using it, so. ]

Hi! So, to preface this, let me say I did read the guides given to me at the start of this. [ That's brisk and matter-of-fact more than anything else. And Rin had. She'd done that first thing, because information was key. And she's decided against asking where she is, since...well, she's scanned plenty of those entries already, and apparently the answers are "Johto", "Pokemon", and "multiple worlds", which she's not sure what to do with. ] But what I'm most interested in wasn't really covered there. The warnings about berries were helpful, but...

[ Not really the most complete informational packet, and she'd definitely like more to rely on, if at all possible. It was her job to know this sort of thing, if she was going to be responsible for the pink thing following her around. "This sort of thing" being... ] Does anyone have any tips on what other poisonous substances we might encounter here? Or any pointers on keeping your Pokemon healthy? I do plan to learn what I can from the centers - but I'm a bit between places right now, so it's not really practical.

[ There's a little sigh. ] I am trained in first aid and medicine, and I presume a lot of it will work on them, but I'm not...entirely sure how the different physiologys might change how that works. So - I'm all ears. And thanks in advance.

...And if anyone has any suggestions as to places that might be good to visit, that'd be fine, too. [ Apparently "home" isn't an option, so...some sort of direction might be nice, rather than her current lack of it. ]

HOW ODD. Give her a moment to shake off the pause. Although if he's wearing his forehead protector, she'll brighten at the sight (though "shinobi" will get a baffled stare over a grin at "konoha"). ]

Tsunade-sama said she'd teach me more about poisons, anyway, so I guess it's fine! Maybe I'll try to get a poison-type to see. I'd like to be able to help if there's a problem, you know?

And I'm not sure. [ She hadn't honestly thought she'd ever see anything again, so...anything is pretty cool. ] Is there anything you've really liked seeing here?

[He's wearing his Konoha headband as always, not thinking anything of it since he doesn't expect the girl to know what it is- he gets plenty of weird comments and looks already.

However, once she mentions Tsunade:]

Hey, you know Granny Tsunade?

[He'll answer the rest in a moment, but first he's too curious about that.

Tsunade-sama? She's one of the Sannin.

[ Which he...should know, and obviously does - at least, he knows her. And is Konoha, so... ]

I took it off because I wasn't sure, but... [ She taps her own forehead, then points at the screen. ] Normally, we'd match.

...But if you know her like she is right now... [ That's muttered. He's probably from after her, so she probably doesn't know him, although...he looks like Sensei, and if eh's from the future...? ]

[At the implication of a Konoha headband he immediately lightens up.]

Oh, you're from Konoha too!

[And then a pause. He doesn't recognise her though.]

How come I ain't seen you around until now?

Yes! I'm a chuunin. Rin Nohara.

[ The not-recognizing is mutual, although she has definite suspicions.

May as well feel him out. ]

I could ask you the same thing! [ ...She really can't. She's dead, she knows it, and she suspects he's from after that. ] Can I ask your name?

Uzumaki Naruto! I dunno who you are though, sorry.

[Not that it should be a surprise, it's a large village after all, but she's the first one to show up whom he doesn't know.]

[ Not Namikaze, but...it's pretty easy to extrapolate from Kushina's name, especially since she was asking because of a resemblance. ]

So would you happen to be related to Kushina-san and Minato-Sensei?

Yeah, they're my Mom and Dad!

[Wait a sec. He blinks at the Pokegear.]

Eh? Minato-sensei....?

Wait don't tel me... you're the girl on Obito and Kakashi-sensei's team?

I thought so! You look a lot like Sensei.

[ Give the boy a prize: Naruto caught on pretty fast there. ]

I'm Rin Nohara, yes. ...But what do you mean by "Kakashi-Sensei"? You're from his genin team?

[ kakashi has a genin team? oh good lord what she wouldn't give to see that. ]

Yeah, I was on his team! We were the only genin team he ever passed y'know, we're pretty awesome. I dunno if you've seen Sakura-chan or Sasuke yet, but they were on his team too!

[He saw what reaction that statement got when he told Obito, so he expects the same from her.]

Let me guess, you reckon he's too much of a jerk to ever has his own team, right?

No, I haven't met either of them!

[ Rin...blinks. Too much of a jerk...? ]

...You think he's a jerk? [ Should she be concerned about future Kakashi's training methods here, or? ]

No- Well yeah, sometimes he can kinda be a jerk like when he's late and lying and stuff, but I said it 'cause when I told Obito he kept saying that Kaka-sensei was a huge jerk who was always going on about shinobi rules and stuff.

They never really got along.

[ She has to laugh at that, just a little, although it's a bit wistful. ]

...I think he'd make a great teacher. It'd be good for him, I'm sure.

Well me and Sasuke hardly got on at times either, so I know how that is. He's a pretty good sensei though, well I think so anyway.

He wasn't wrong about the rules, back then. But things changed, and Obito wouldn't remember that.

[ Just so Naruto knows. And...it might not have been a fast change, but Kakashi was different. Different enough that someone who watched him could tell. ]

Because he died, right?

[He'd heard most of the story by now. From those here, obviously, during all those years Kakashi had never said a thing.]

That would be why!

[ There's...no real point in hiding that, wow. ]

I am a little curious about what sort of Sensei Kakashi makes, though.

[Hmm, how to describe Kakashi? There's an exasperated sigh.]

Well, he was usually late, and always reading porn, and I don't really know that much about him, which is weird since he's been our sensei for years, right?

[The disgruntled face turns to a soft smile, though.]

But he taught me a lot of really great stuff, not just combat skills but other things like teamwork and looking under the underneath. And he always believes in me and helps me out, even when he probably shouldn't.

...He was what.

[ She's. Not sure how to take the reading porn more than anything else Kakashi what are you doing in front of your genin, although she can guess what being late might be from - at least, he visits Obito's grave, when she's from.

At least the additions to the end allow her to smile back, though. That sounds more like the Kakashi she knows. ]

He's really great, isn't he? Although sometimes he didn't want to or knew he shouldn't, I can't think of a time he ever really let me down.

[ ...well he didn't agree to do one thing she asked, but she...worked around that. ]

Hehe, yeah.

What was he really like when you guys were kids, then? [He's still curious about that.]

He was always punctual, for one thing. [ Usually they were the ones waiting for Obito...which Rin never minded, although Kakashi did. ]

And Obito wasn't wrong about him quoting the rules a lot. He did do that. But he had his reasons, so...I don't think that was a bad thing. [ Besides: sometimes the rules made sense, didn't they? To protect the village, and all the people within. ] He was the first one on our team to get to chuunin, and then jounin. Kakashi didn't really want to spend a lot of free time with us, outside of training, to be honest. After...Obito, we spent more time together, but it was just grabbing meals after missions, or going to see him together, really.

Sounds like he really changed a lot after.. [Obito's death.] all that stuff happened.

Y'know its kinda weird that he's been our sensei for so long, but we don't really know anything about him or what he used to be like.

I think war changes people! So...I'm not surprised.

[ ...granted, they grew up in a war, but... ]

Well...if you like, sometime, we can trade stories. I'd like to know more about the person Kakashi grows up to be, too.

[ because she never gets to see that. :T ]

Yeah, we definitely should do it! I wanna know all about him, and I bet there's loads of stuff I can tell you about the old Kakashi.

It'll be fun! Obito might like to hear the stories, too.

[ ...WELL, he would probably agree to listen if she were there anyway. ]
