first seal; video/action for new bark.
[ This post could take place anywhere. There's no defining shot of a background that's instantly defining - just trees, and sky, and Rin. If it weren't for the music - New Bark theme, easily recognizable to anyone who knows their tunes - it would be hard to pin down where she was. Rin herself looks native for a given value of native, too. She's swapped out to the extra set of clothing in her pack - "lass" - and instead of a hitai-ate, there's a plain blue headband. There's also a smile, if a cautious one. These things seem pretty harmless so far, and there doesn't seem to be any benefit from not using it, so. ]
Hi! So, to preface this, let me say I did read the guides given to me at the start of this. [ That's brisk and matter-of-fact more than anything else. And Rin had. She'd done that first thing, because information was key. And she's decided against asking where she is, since...well, she's scanned plenty of those entries already, and apparently the answers are "Johto", "Pokemon", and "multiple worlds", which she's not sure what to do with. ] But what I'm most interested in wasn't really covered there. The warnings about berries were helpful, but...
[ Not really the most complete informational packet, and she'd definitely like more to rely on, if at all possible. It was her job to know this sort of thing, if she was going to be responsible for the pink thing following her around. "This sort of thing" being... ] Does anyone have any tips on what other poisonous substances we might encounter here? Or any pointers on keeping your Pokemon healthy? I do plan to learn what I can from the centers - but I'm a bit between places right now, so it's not really practical.
[ There's a little sigh. ] I am trained in first aid and medicine, and I presume a lot of it will work on them, but I'm not...entirely sure how the different physiologys might change how that works. So - I'm all ears. And thanks in advance.
...And if anyone has any suggestions as to places that might be good to visit, that'd be fine, too. [ Apparently "home" isn't an option, so...some sort of direction might be nice, rather than her current lack of it. ]

[ But that's just a tangent. ]
Of course! I won't let you down. [ Or at least she'll do everything in her power not to fail; especially if Tsunade is taking the time to train her at all. ]
I had to find a huffington post comment about hot pink slugs for this comment, ty lucy
[ #thestuffilookupforroleplay. ]
You can talk to my other student if you wish, Sakura is one of one the world's finest in terms of medicine and that was only after two years with me. She was able to counter poisons that even veteran experts couldn't dream about curing. [ proud mama proud mama proud mama. ]
yw, muffin
[ FASCINATING. #thethingsyoulearnfromhokages. ]
Sakura...? [ Wait, was she having a conversation with a Sakura...she was. HUH. ] I'll definitely talk to her! She sounds amazing.
giant pink slugs sound like an awesome tsunade summon though
[ And how lucky she is for that! Whenever Tsunade is seen near a creature, some people express their nervousness. She is just fine despite being raisin like. ]
She holds similar talents to you. In some aspects, I'd say she's your spitting image in terms of will and medical abilities. But, then again, I spot similarities between the Sannin, their proteges, and team Minato since I've heard so much of the last two and experienced the first one. [ Well, she also sees similarities with every other team with the Varied In Hot Bloodedness Male + Laid Back Guy + Somewhat More Grounded Obligatory Woman. The template varies a bit, but Tsunade's not going to make an awkward moment and compare Rin to everyone else so shhhh. mouths are shut. ]
it really does omg
[ Similarities. Rin could see them between her teacher and his students, in their own ways. Obito wanted to be Hokage; Kakashi had Minato's skill; and Rin? Rin was calm, like he was.
Which was useful, overall. ]
I never really had the chance to speak to many people with similar skills and interests - that is to say there weren't really many medics in my graduating class.
[ for some reason. ]
it really does omg
Thank you Rin for being a piece of sanity on the crazy trains. Tsunade often felt the same way with Jiraiya and the Third exchanging pervy tips, and Orochimaru being .... weird. Despite the fact that Tsunade is a boisterous alcoholic with a real bad temper. ]
Well, by the time I left, there were just starting to implement a medical training program which I suggested previously, but it was shot down for the dumbest of reasons. [ Actual, physical anger and spite, not the usual comical displays, come across Tsunade's face. ] It could've saved so many lives. Now, medical ninja are common across the world because of the system's genius. In fact, the widespread application of medical ninja have led to an increase in life span amongst ninja and medical ninja are able to pick up combat uses in case they get into fights, but this remains slightly rare.

How many people would have been saved, out of those she knew? In that war? ]
...It must have saved a lot of lives, when it was implemented.

[ Probably a decent amount, if that's any consolation! ]

A lot has changed. Your groundbreaking operation allowed a system with a medic to become almost standard in Konoha. Four out of every five teams has one.
